Live Web Trainer

A working in-browser slice of the DHC-6 Trainer: normal procedures, QRH memory items, scored flashcards, the performance calculator, a PF/PM cockpit drill, a local logbook that records every session on this device, and an interactive 3D PT6A-27 engine cross-section. Content is drawn from the DHC-6 Series 300 AFM/POH, the operator QRH, and the Flight Crew Training Manual.

      PT6A-27 overview

The PT6A-27 is a free-turbine, reverse-flow turboprop producing 620 SHP (flat-rated). Air enters at the rear, flows forward through a three-stage axial plus one centrifugal compressor, reverses through an annular combustion chamber, then passes rearward through the compressor turbine and power turbine. The power turbine drives the propeller through a two-stage reduction gearbox at the front. This reverse-flow design keeps the propeller shaft short and the engine compact.
